Chapter Overview
In this training chapter you get familiar with CMMN markers providing a specific control of execution.
Element Description:
There are 4 types of CMMN markers which are positioned at the bottom of an element.
-
manual activation rule: This marker controls whether a task or stage has to be started manually.
-
required rule: This marker controls whether a task, stage or milestone is required to be executed.
-
repetition rule: This marker controls whether a task, stage or milestone can be repeated after execution.
-
auto complete: This marker controls whether a stage or caseplan can autocomplete

All such markers can be specified by setting a related checkbox.
Additonally, you can specify a condition using TypeScript for manual activation rule, required rule and auto complete (similar to a BPMN gateway condition see BPMN Training - Chapter 5: Exclusive Gateway).
Sample CMMN Case Plan
Tutorial Model: Automation/Case Plan/Tutorial/DCM/FourEyesVerification/FourEyesVerification
Case Plan Explanation:
-
The case plan is a sample of a "Four Eyes Verification".
-
At instance creation the stage "Person Verification" together with the human task "Verify Personal Data" are activated.
-
At instance creation the process task "Further Inquieries" is enabled and can be activated manually by the user.
-
If this task is completed, it will be repeated and available for a manual activation again
-
After the human task "Verify Personal Data" is completed the process task "Contact Legal Guardian" is activated if the age is below 18..
-
The stage is auto completed after all active tasks of the stage and the required task "Verify Personal Data" are completed.
-
After the stage is completed the milestone "Person Verified" is triggered, which directly activates the human task "Four Eyes Verification".
-
The completion of this human task completes the case plan
