Administration External System - Environment Independent Development

This feature provides the integration of external systems and variants of application execution in different environments. The security of external system access will be as follows:

  • only responsible administrators can configure system access data
  • system access data can be modified without system downtime
  • no developer can view or log system access data

As an example, related to the integration of external systems, the URL and credentials will differ dependent on develop, test and production environments. Application execution variants could be based on specific test data, for example.

This External System option creates the objects and allows to enter values for the configurations that will need the connectors to run the applications.

Then xAPPnow Modeling Studio provides Environment Objects within a Definition Object Model, which can be designed according to the needs of an external system integration. It also provides standard Data Source environment objects for the DB connector and a URL Connection environment object for user and password specification for Process, CMIS and Rest connectors.

Remark: Environment Objects on xAPPnow Modeling Studio must have same names as the environments objects created on xAPPnow User Portal.
In order to correctly updates the external systems on server side a process "UpdateServerEnvironmentObject" should be deployed on our engine. This process clears all variables in the environment object cache.
1. In case of a fresh installation this model will be deployed by default on the appollo domain.
2 . The modeI will be always solved in the appollo domain, regardless of the logged in domain.
3. For current installations, the process must be manually deployed to the appollo domain.
4. This deployment should not be removed in order to correctly updates the external system values on server side.
